Former Wichita State Shocker Tommy Hottovy is now a Texas Ranger.  The Kansas City Royals announced they were trading the left-handed pitcher to Texas on Thursday afternoon.

Hottovy recorded 9 and a third relief innings pitched for Kansas City in 2012 with a 2.89 E.R.A.  He allowed 11 hits, 2 home runs and struck out 6 batters.  Hottovy started his MLB career with the Boston Red Sox in 2011.  There he pitched just 4 innings of relief with a 6.75 E.R.A.

Hottovy was designated for assignment by the Royals on November 2nd of this year.
