The Shockers took 14th ranked Tennessee to five sets on Sunday but ended up falling to the Vols 3-2.
Tennessee won the first two sets, 25-19 and 28-26, then the Shockers came back to win sets three and four, 25-22 and 26-24. The fifth and final set was a 15-6 win for the Vols.
Emily Adney led Wichita State with 16 kills while Elizabeth Field and Ashley Andrade added 12 and 13 respectively.
Chris Lamb's team is now 3-3 on the season and will head to the SMU Doubletree Classic Thursday, September 6th.
