I'm not sure of Ryan Newman is a big Peaches and Herb fan. But I do know that in 2013 he is Reunited with crew chief Matt Borland and it has got to feel so good.
This will be an important year for Newman and Borland, seeing how Ryans future at Stewart-Haas racing beyond this season is up in the air. But the teaming of the two seems to be a good sign. They have had a lot of success together.
"Most people don't realize, he was the best man at my wedding," said Newman. "So he's got a great personal connection as well as a performance connection."
They will need to find that mojo this season. After making the chase in 2011 and getting a quick wim in 2012, Newman and the chase last season.
"We started off stong last year and it just kinda fell apart," said Newman. "We won early, which was nice. But even with that win which would have got us into the chase in 2011, it didn't get us into the chase in 2012. You can't just sit there and feel like you are happy because you have speed, it takes teamwork, it takes a lot of things to be successful."
