Many people are asking if Jeff Gordon of his career. Here's the deal, a down sliding Gordon is still better than most of the drivers in the garage during their prime. So yes, Gordon is still a threat to make the chase and win a fifth title.
It is getting more difficult for Gordon. Maybe it's old age, maybe it's more competition, maybe it that its been awhile since he has had a crew chief that he clicked with. Maybe it's all three.
Gordon certainly appreciates how hard this all is, even with all of his success.
"I think that if you go out there every year and just have spectacular years people start to get a little tired of it," said Gordon. "For me it hasn't always been that way, which one has made me just have to work harder at it and be more appreciative of the good times I've had and the good times when they come."
