He's won two Emmy Awards for his role as Cameron on ABC's 'Modern Family. But if you ask actor Eric Stonestreet what he's most proud of, chances are his Kansas roots are near the top of the list.

Born in Kansas City, Stonestreet graduated from K-State. This week, he's in Phoenix to watch the Wildcats take on Oregon on the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

An estimated crowd of 30,000 filled Chase Stadium Wednesday for a pep rally. Stonestreet helped get the crowd excited about the first ever meeting between the two teams.

Stonestreet told Eyewitness Sports Anchor Jenn Bates that he brings up K-state wherever and whenever he can. "I'm proud of where I went to college. I'm proud of the people that go to Kansas State. I'm proud of the town of Manhattan and the university."

Stonestreet says he's even converted some of his co-starts into K-State fans. He recently appeared in a promotional video for ESPN with Oregon-native Ty Burrell.

"A few people have come up to me in Los Angeles more than a times to say gosh-darn you Stonestreet, I don't even follow college sports and now I'm a K-State fan."
