Kansas State wants to to use less of the 'K-State' name

Living in the moment served Kansas State well this season. The seventh-ranked Wildcats rose to No. 1 in the BCS standings, won the Big 12 title and reached the Fiesta Bowl.
But after finishing the season with a loss to No. 5 Oregon on Thursday night, Kansas State can finally turn its attention to the future.
That means life without quarterback Collin Klein, linebacker Arthur Brown and the rest of a senior class that helped to engineer another massive turnaround in Manhattan.
Coach Bill Snyder will have to fill plenty of holes on both sides of the ball, and the Wildcats will surely be picked to finish in the bottom half of the Big 12 next season. But then again, that's where they were picked to finish this season.

The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl did not turn out how the Wildcats hoped.
Oregon got in the board with a kickoff return on the first play of the game. De'Anthony Thomas ran 94-yards for the touchdown. The Ducks then scored on a two-point conversion to make it 8-0.
Oregon scored again in the first quarter making it 15-0.
K-State fought back in the second quarter. Collin Klein scored at the beginning of the second quarter to make it 15-7. Anthony Cantele kicked a 25 yard field goal to make it 15-10.
With less than a minute to go until halftime, Kenjon Barner caught a 24 yard TD pass from Marcus Mariota (followed by a kick) to make it 22-10.
In the opening minutes of the third quarter, Alejandro Maldonado kicked a 32 yard field goal to make it 25-10. Oregon's Marcus Mariota then took it into the endzone to make it 32-10.
K-State wasn't giving up. John Hubert scored on a 10 yard pass from Klein to make it 32-17. But as the final seconds clicked down, it become obvious K-State wasn't coming back. The final score 35-17.
Klein threw two interceptions and had 30 yards rushing on 13 carries.
