Lorenzo Cain placed on 15-day DL

The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have placed outfielder Lorenzo Cain on the 15-day disabled list with a left groin strain.  Left-handed pitcher Justin Marks has been recalled from Triple-A Omaha to take Cain’s place on the 25-man roster.  Marks will be in uniform for tonight’s 7:10 game against the Houston Astros.

Despite taking an early 1-0 lead against the Minnesota Twins in the first inning, the Royals were unable to capitalize. They quickly found themselves down 2-1 at the end of the first and in the fourth it got out of control. The Royals fell to Minnesota 10-1.
