For the first time since 1997, a Chiefs linebacker is heading to the pro-bowl.  And for the second year in a row Kansas City defensive lineman Tamba Hali has been selected to play in the pro-bowl.

Derrick Johnson and Hali are the only two pro-bowl selections for the Chiefs this season.  Johnson is the first K.C. linebacker to make the roster since Derrick Thomas back in 1997.  Hali was selected as a late injury-addition to the roster last year but declined the invite.

Johnson has been having a career-year in 2011, recording a franchise single-season record for tackles with 172 and he still has one game left to play.  Hali is looking to go back-to-back as the A.F.C. sack leader.  Currently, Hali is one sack behind the conference leader.

This season's pro-bowl will be played January 29th, 2012 in Hawaii.  Neither Johnson nor Hali are listed as starters for the A.F.C.
