Tarean Folston, RB, Cocoa High
| RK | PLAYER | POS | SCHOOL | HT | WT | OFFERS |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Tarean Folston | RB | Cocoa | 5-10 | 195 | Coach John Wilkinson calls Folston the best RB he's ever coached, although he will be an option QB this year. Folston has more than 30 offers, including Florida, USF, Notre Dame and others. Alabama has offered him as a DB.
Jaynard Bostwick | DL | Port St. Lucie West Centennial | 6-4 | 290 | Already invited to both the Under Armour and U.S. Army all-star games, Bostwick has emerged as the one of the nation's top DL because of his size, strength and ability to play across the line. He is favoring Miami but also has Alabama and FSU on a deep offer list. Must work on grades.
James Clark | DE/LB | Sebastian River | 6-2 | 210 | An explosive playmaker off the edge, Clark logged 8 sacks last year and will anchor a talented Sebastian River defense in 2012. Auburn, USF, Ole Miss and Rutgers are among the schools to have offered him. However, Memphis appears to be his front-runner.
Marcus Levy | RB | Fort Pierce Central | 5-11 | 185 | Committed to Cincinnati. Levy is the premier prospect for a loaded FPC squad. Levy accumulated nearly 1800 yards of total offense last year and also scored 21 touchdowns.
Justin Williams | DB | Port St. Lucie Treasure Coast | 6-1 | 180 | Williams is an accomplished track star and makes good use of his natural ability as a DB and KR specialist for Treasure Coast. A little raw, but schools are transfixed by his speed (10.5 seconds in 100 meter dash.) South Carolina, Michigan State and West Virginia have offered.
Garthner "Sean" Paul | DB | Vero Beach | 6-3 | 175 | Paul might be the most physical player in the area and he has narrowed his colleges to Wake Forest and Louisville. He can play anywhere in the defensive backfield but is at his best roaming the field as a safety. Finished his junior year with 32 tackles.UCF has also offered among 12 other schools.
Caleb Alves | WR | Melbourne Palm Bay | 6-2 | 185 | Committed to SOuth Alabama. Hands down, he's Brevard's best WR prospect. Alves is a do-everything player for Palm Bay but will be ineligible after Week 4 because he will have reached the state's age limit.
D.J. Juste | ATH | Port St. Lucie | 6-1 | 185 | Juste is a dynamic triple-option QB that may have to play WR in college. Regardless of what position he ends up at, Juste has the potential to be a game breaker but will need seasoning. He has eight mid-major DI-A offers including FAU and Navy.
Joseph Figueroa | ATH | Fort Pierce Central | 5-10 | 180 | Has the versatility to play all over the field, although Figueroa will likely be a S in college. He logged 8 INTs in 2011 and had 97 tackles. Figueroa is also fully qualified with a 3.5 GPA and 22 ACT score, explaining his offer from Harvard. Bowling Green, Memphis, Northern Illinois, South Alabama, Western Kentucky have offered.
Chris Flaig | OL | Vero Beach St. Edwards School | 6-5 | 285 | Committed to FIU. Flaig has DI strength and size, but plays at the small-school level, making him a force. Flaig exhibits excellent technique, is a strong student and picked FIU over offers from FAU and Memphis.
Josh Knight | WR | Fort Pierce Central | 6-2 | 180 | Yet another FPC player with multiple DI offers. Knight is not a burner, but uses his size well and runs excellent patterns. USF and FIU are some of the top schools to have offered Knight.
Dravious Wright | DB | Vero Beach | 5-10 | 185 | Wright teams up with Paul to form one of the best DB duos in the Treasure Coast. Wright is extremely productive (71 tackles, 2 INTs) and is a fearless hitter for a CB. Northern Illinois and Western Kentucky have offered.
Justin Martinez | OL | Port St. Lucie West Centennial | 6-3 | 265 | Relentless run blocker plays with a bit of an attitude. A LT in high school, Martinez will likely move inside to OG in college. FIU and Western Kentucky have offered. Missed spring with knee injury.
Arthur Williams | S | Sebring | 6-3 | 185 | Freakish athletic skills (legitimate 37-inch vertical jump) and impressive build make Williams one of the more intriguing prospects in the area. USF has been in consistent contact, but only Western Kentucky and UMass have offered.
Jameel Jackson | WR | Fort Pierce Central | 6-0 | 180 | Jackson is a well-rounded receiver that does an equally good job on short patterns and deep routes. Creates a nice combo with Knight. Bowling Green, Western Kentucky and Western Michigan have offered.
David Dessent | QB | Cocoa Beach | 6-4 | 240 | Looks more like an OL than a QB, which might turn some schools off, but Dessent has a live arm, incredible accuracy and the brains (3.6 GPA, 30 ACT) to thrive at the next level. Was injured part of junior year, but is starting receive lots of interest now that he's healthy.
Robert Lindsey | OL | Palm Bay Bayside | 6-4 | 260 | Versatility and effort are Lindsey's strong suits. He's not an overly dominating prospect physically, but his ability to climb to the second level and maintain blocks has earned him an offer from FIU. FAU is showing interest.
Deondre Barnett | DE | Cocoa | 6-3 | 215 | Unlike Cocoa defenders in the past, Barnett has college-level size to go along with his athleticism. He didn't put up huge numbers as a junior, but there will be more tackles to go around with several key defenders departing from the team.
Antwan Lee | RB | Cocoa | 5-10 | 180 | Lee was the hero of the 2010 state title game when he returned a kickoff 69 yards for a score in the second half of Cocoa' 14-13 win against Glades Central. He followed that up with a 1000-yard junior year. Lee is a smooth runner with excellent quickness and finishing ability.
Leroy Berry | RB | Melbourne Palm Bay | 5-8 | 17 | This scat back might be undersized, but his quickness makes him a threat to score every time he touches the ball. Back-to-back 1000-yard seasons indicates how effective he is. Potential in college is as a slot back in a spread-option system.
Stacy Noble Jr. | LB | Fort Pierce Central | 5-11 | 235 | Noble is a big inside backer that has the size to play LB or DE. He's a smart student too, possessing a 3.3 GPA. Minnesota, Holy Cross and Harvard have offered.
Ruggery MiClisse | DB | Bayside Palm Bay | 6-2 | 196 | Versatile DB recorded 5 INTs as a soph. and proved he was equally impressive against the run as a junior. MiClisse is receiving interest from dozens of schools because of his optimal size and skillset. A bit under-the-radar because he's bounced around at different positions until now.
Cam Nealy | OL | Clewiston | 6-3 | 315 | A First Team Class 4A member in 2011, Nealy is the focal point of Clewiston's power running attack. Moves well for a big guy. Would be higher on the list but grades are a concern.
Garrett Smith | OL | Fort Pierce Central | 6-3 | 280 | Good size and even better grades (3.75 GPA, 25 ACT), Smith is picking up interest from a variety of schools and holds Yale and Harvard offers. Not a mauler, but Smith plays with good technique and takes good angles on blocks.
Connor Moore | OL | Vero Beach | 6-2 | 265 | Quick LT does a good job vs. the pass. He broke his leg during the spring but is expected to be back at the beginning of the regular season. That might slow down his recruitment some, although he has offers from Jacksonville State and Georgia Southern.
B.J. Ross | CB | Melbourne Palm Bay | 5-10 | 170 | Committed to Memphis. Four-year starter is very fluid CB and his ability to come up and make tackles close to the LOS makes him an ideal fit for his team's Cover 2 scheme. Lack of man coverage in film hurts his stock some, but Ross is a capable man-to-man CB too.
Jerandious Works | DL | Fort Pierce Central | 5-11 | 245 | Works is little, but has a lot of passion and can line up all over the field. He does a nice job using his low center of gravity to his advantage, regularly gaining leverage on opponents. Jacksonville State has offered.
Steven Williams | DB | Titusville Astronaut | 6-2 | 215 | Colleges from around the region have been trickling at practices to see yet another Brevard-area sleeper. Williams is a district champion in the 100, 200 and 400, and has the size of a college-level DB. Grades must improve though.
Jalen Jackson | WR | Viera | 6-0 | 190 | Has a very good chance of becoming second player in school history to get a DI offer. Does everything well as a WR. Had 445 receiving yards last season. Ran an electronic 4.6 40-yard dash, meaning he's at 4.4 level when hand-timed.
Octavia Jefferson | RB | Sebastian River | 5-11 | 185 | Tough-runner does not shy away from contact, but has the speed to avoid tackles and break off long runs. First offer shouldn't be far off. Will take on bigger role with FB Nikko Finnegan graduating.
Roger Bush | ATH | Palm Bay Bayside | 5-10 | 190 | Bush is being recruited equally as a S and RB. He isn't a blazer, but is very instinctive on both sides of the ball. Cincinnati, Navy and South Alabama have shown interest.
Paul Annulis | OL | Titusville | 6-4 | 290 | Annulis is a sleeper product because his highlight tape has yet to circulate, but new coach Andy Price feels that Annulis has DI potential. Annulis has quick feet and is a strong blocker versus the run and the pass. Also possesses a 3.6 GPA.
De'Marcus Terry | ATH | Clewiston | 5-7 | 175 | Terry is a tough runner and plays bigger than his listed size. Can run between the tackles but has the shiftiness to get to the outside too. Patriot League schools are showing interest in Terry, who has a 3.97 GPA and scored a 20 on his ACT.
Rashad Pierce | LB | Fort Pierce Westwood | 5-11 | 190 | Fluid LB on edge who has very good fundamentals and solid athleticism. Ivy League schools are intrigued because of his 3.8 GPA. Team won just one game in 2011, so he must work against that.
Boone Lewis | WR/TE | Cocoa Beach | 6-3 | 210 | Lewis creates all kinds of mismatches from the TE position. He grabbed 63 catches for 848 yards and 7 TDs as a junior. Ivy League schools are all over him because of his 4.4 GPA and 34 ACT score.
Cody Labanowitz | QB | Stuart South Fork | 6-1 | 195 | Although he's thrived in an option offense, Labanowitz will likely move to S in college because of his athleticism and lack of top arm strength. Good grades and test scores make him another Ivy League prospect at a school known for producing brainiacs.
Herly Ulysee | DL/OL | Palm Bay Heritage | 6-4 | 265 | His coaches rave about his quickness and overall motor. He dominates as a one-technique at small school level, but has athleticism to play outside in college. Drawing interest from schools such as FAU, Charleston Southern and Georgia Southern.
Davaris Faulk | ATH | Sebring | 5-11 | 190 | An explosive RB that doubled as the team's leading tackler at LB the past two seasons. Had to play QB last year, which hurt his exposure. Charleston Southern is recruiting him, but he must improve his 2.2 GPA.
Shelvick Henry | ATH | Sebastian River | 6-0 | 160 | No matter where he's lined up, Henry is always looking to score. He is a lengthy DB with natural cover skills and great range. Has tons of upside.
Nate Pryor | WR | Vero Beach | 5-9 | 180 | Although Pryor lacks elite speed (4.7 40-yard dash), he has great quickness and hands. An ideal slot receiver, Pryor is also a dangerous KR. Bethune Cookman is close to offering.
Alex Adler | QB | Rockledge | 6-3 | 205 | Battling Dessent for the honor of Brevard's best QB. Like Dessent, Adler is an excellent student (4.0 GPA) and throws a great ball. He is accurate while on the run and has the mobility to scramble. Still raw because of Rockledge's offense. Must cut down on turnovers.
Phillip Norman | TE/OL | Sebastian River | 6-4 | 280 | An absolute mauler at TE who will likely move inside to OT or OG in college. Exited spring without any college offers, but his size/strength combo can only be ignored for so long.
Jovante King | S | Sebastian River | 6-0 | 180 | Is he a LB? Is he a S? King can play both equally well, but his size will probably push him towards being a S in college. King isn't a ferocious hitter, but is sound in the open field and is extremely opportunistic.
Mikel Carter | ATH | Jensen Beach | 6-2 | 180 | An equally impressive offensive and defensive prospect, Carter is likely a LB in college. He has DI potential, but he must work on his 2.5 GPA.
Shyheim Alves | ATH | Melbourne Palm Bay | 6-0 | 175 | Caleb's little brother, Shyheim has a similar skillset. Alves uses his body well on jump balls as a WR and is strong in run support when playing CB. Seems like a no brainer to play at DI-AA level.
JaQuan Davis | OL | Stuart Martin County | 6-3 | 285 | Broken wrist in the spring limited his exposure. Schools will keep him in mind though because of his ideal size and run-blocking ability. Three-year starter helped pave the way for an offense that compiled nearly 2,000 yards in 2011.
Roody Clerisier | CB | Fort Pierce Central | 5-9 | 165 | Another member of FPC's ball-hawking secondary. Clerisier is a typical cover-corner with good hip flexibility and quickness. He finished with 37 tackles and a punt return for a TD in 2011.
Deon Andrews | DL | Port St. Lucie | 5-11 | 270 | Andrews will always have to answer questions about his height, but his physical skills are on par with just about any other DL on this list. He has a terrific first step and strong fundamentals. Similar to Works on FPC, but he's bigger. Had 8 sacks and 13 TFL in 2011.
Cole Ripple | LB | Vero Beach | 5-11 | 200 | Specialty is filling running lanes and blowing plays up, but he has enough speed to be an effective sideline-to-sideline guy. Very instinctual, he had 114 tackles last year. Only downside is that film shows that he has tendency to strike and pull down instead of driving through to finish tackle.
Joe Batch | S | Merritt Island | 5-10 | 175 | A typical headhunter at S, he always seems to be looking for big hit on unsuspecting WRs coming over the middle. Proven track and field runner also contributes as RB/WR/QB.
Cody McGahee | OL | Stuart South Fork | 6-2 | 245 | Gritty, clever and relentless, McGahee is everything you could ask for of a center. He's on the smaller side, but will be pursued by Ivy League schools.
Requan Turbush | LB | Palm Bay Bayside | 5-11 | 195 | Pure linebacker is a three-year starter that seems to do everything well. Like Ripple in that he must work on not wrapping and dragging.
D.J. Washington | ATH | Okeechobee | 5-11 | 195 | After running for more than 600 yards as a QB last year, Washington figures to have a breakout 2012 campaign now that he's been moved to RB full time. He is also a capable defensive player. FAU and FIU visited him during the spring.
Tyris Wooten | ATH | Palm Bay Heritage | 6-1 | 165 | Three-year starter is a very good cover corner at small school level. He had 5 INTs in 2011. Size and grades (3.94 GPA) make him a strong candidate for academic schools.
Tyler Gaskin | ATH | Fort Pierce Central | 6-0 | 160 | Will move from NB to outside CB after Carl Bess--a Stetson signee--graduated. A willing tackler for a DB and pretty opportunistic. Bowling Green and Western Kentucky are in the mix.
Devante Ray | DE/WR | LaBelle | 6-4 | 200 | Ray is around 15 pounds away from turning into a DI prospect. He's a rangy, quick-footed DE with some serious potential. Had 20 tackles and 8 TFL last year. FIU is recruiting him actively. FAU, Appalachian State and Southern are also interested.
Ryan Dick | QB | Avon Park | 6-0 | 190 | Although he has an unorthodox throwing motion, Dick is a productive player with the athleticism to be inserted into a variety of offensive schemes. With a 3.7 GPA and a 25 ACT score, Harvard has entered the picture. Air Force, Charleston Southern, FIU and Florida Tech are also interested.
Myles Waters | RB/FB | Titusville | 6-2 | 235 | Run-first FB is a load to take down because of his strength and physical running style. Must work on blocking technique. Waters forms a nice combo with RB Darius Young. Titusville's losing ways (0 playoff appearances since 1995) hurts stock, but new staff should get him on the radar.
Jordan Benton | RB | Eau Gallie | 6-1 | 185 | Benton had some big games last year but got hurt and ended up missing 7 contests. He has the ability to play at DI level and is hearing from FAU, FIU, Jacksonville and South Alabama.
Matt Curivan | LB | Jensen Beach | 6-1 | 210 | Prototypical MLB with excellent read and react skills. He knows his job is to blow up FBs and spill runners to other LBs. 5.3 GPA and 25 ACT has garnered him interest from Penn and Holy Cross.
