For the first time since 1999-00 and for only the second time in school history, three Shockers landed on the All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team.
Jamillah Bonner, Alex Harden and Michelle Price all made the list and the trio was also named to the MVC All-Defensive team.
It is also only the second time in Valley history three players from one school made the all-defensive team.
Harden is a repeat member on both teams and is the second Shocker in a row to be named to the MVC First Team in consecutive seasons after Jessica Diamond accomplished the same feat from 2011-13. She is the third Wichita State player to be named to the All-Defensive Team in back-to-back years, as Antionette Wells did it in 2005-06/2006-07 and Haleigh Lankster did it in 2010-11/2011-12.
The MVC Preseason Player of the Year and a member of the Preseason All-Conference Team, Harden leads the Shockers in scoring at 16.9 points a game, while pulling down 5.7 rebounds and handing out 5.1 assists a game. Her 67 steals lead the team and are good for second in the conference, while her 34 blocks are second on the team and sixth in the conference.
Bonner is second on the team in scoring at 12.8 points per game while pulling down 4.4 rebounds a game and contributing 1.7 steals a game. She is 13th in the conference in scoring and ninth in steals. The 5-foot-8 guard also grabs an average of 2.0 offensive rebounds a game, which is one of the top marks in the Valley.
Price is a first time member on both the All-MVC and MVC All-Defensive Team. The senior from Kingwood, Texas is averaging 12.2 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 7.4 per game. Her 62 steals on the year are second on the team and fourth in the Valley. She is also second in the conference with a field goal percentage of .563.
Wichita State has now had a player on each of the teams for four consecutive seasons, the first time that has happened in school history.
The league's specialty awards (Coach of the Year, etc.) will be released Thursday.
