A prestigious college basketball publication thinks highly of Wichita State's Fred VanVleet.

Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook anoints him a preseason First Team All-American.

VanVleet averaged more than 11 points per game in 2013-2014. The guard out of Rockford, Ill. also contributed 5.4 assists and nearly four rebounds per contest.

VanVleet earned 10 postseason awards during the 2013-14 season. He was named AP Honorable Mention All-America while being named to the 2014 MVC All-First Team, the 2014 MVC All-Defensive Team, the 2014 MVC Most-ImprovedTeam as the Team Captain, and was named the 2014 Larry Bird MVC Player of the Year.

VanVleet was also named to the Sporting News All-America Third Team, the USBWA District VI All-District Team, the NABC Division 16 All-First Team, was a 2014 Bob Cousy Award finalist and was named to the NABC Division I All-America Third Team. On July 29, Real Men, Real Heroes also honored VanVleet for his involvement and service to youth in the Wichita community.
