Meteorologist Dean Jones says warmer days along with chances of rain this week.

A quiet weather day across Kansas with a mix of sun and high clouds, as an upper level disturbance moves across the region through the afternoon. There is a very slight chance of a sprinkle across southern Kansas by late day, but don't count on it. Highs today will reach the upper 40s and 50s statewide.

The weak disturbance moves out of Kansas tonight with clearing skies and light winds. Temperatures will be chilly with overnight lows in the teens and 20s. Winter coats will be required, as you head out the door to work and school, however sunny skies and southerly winds on Monday will bring more warmth to the Sunflower State. Highs will reach the upper 50s and 60s. Winds will be gusty with highest wind gusts (30-35 m.p.h.) across southwest Kansas Monday afternoon. Gusty winds, warm temperatures and low relative humidity will increase the wild fire danger too. A Fire Weather Watch is in place across western Kansas through Monday evening.

The next weather system to affect Kansas will move in on Tuesday with increasing clouds and a chance of showers by afternoon. The moisture and potential for rain will be highest across south-central and southeast Kansas. A cold front moves into the state on Wednesday, increasing the instability and chances for another round of showers and even thunderstorms for areas along and east of the Kansas Turnpike. No severe weather is expected at this time. Highs Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the 50s and 60s, which is well above normal for late February. Sunshine will dominate the rest of the work week and the first few days of March with highs in the 50s and 60s. Another chances of showers and thunderstorms enters the picture next weekend, as a stronger weather system approaches on Sunday.
