Afternoon temperatures 25 degrees above average will mean a chance to break record highs Monday afternoon.
Low clouds and fog will redevelop over central and eastern Kansas for the night, and could lead to reduced visibilities early Monday. Lows will be in the 40s over much of the state, but could be as chilly as mid 30s in the northwest. Winds will stay out of the south through the night.
Once the fog burns off Monday morning, temperatures will quickly warm into the upper 60s and low 70s by mid afternoon. South winds could gust as high as 35 mph and a partly cloudy sky is expected.
A cold front will be coming through early Tuesday, dropping temperatures back into the 40s and 50s. Other than some light snow flurries in northwest Kansas, dry conditions will continue through midweek.
Colder weather will be the main story heading into the second half of the week.
