After some very chilly weather the last few days, expect a milder trend heading into the weekend.

The wind will go down through the night and turn back to the south over much of the state. Lows will be in the single digits over central and northern Kansas, but should be in the teens across western Kansas. Skies will be mostly clear.

Some clouds will pass through on Friday, and temperatures are expected to start warming back up. Highs will be in the mid 40s west, with low 40s in Wichita. Where there is snow on the ground Friday, temperatures will be in the mid 30s. The wind will be out of the south and could be gusty from time to time.

Over the weekend, temperatures will be heading up into the 50s with more sunshine and lighter winds.
