Gusty southerly winds will spread eastward Friday night as clouds thicken. Overnight lows will be fairly mild, in the 30s to near 40 degrees.
A few showers will develop Saturday morning and early afternoon. Highs are expected top out in the mid-50s along with a stiff south wind.
Our weekend weather-maker will bring thunderstorms to the eastern half of Kansas Saturday night. Some hail, up to an inch in diameter, and wind gusts around 50 mph will be possible with a few of the stronger storms.
Colder air will swirl into the weekend storm system Saturday night so snow will begin to fly across northwest Kansas by early Sunday morning.
Most of our state should be dry but cooler Sunday afternoon with a gusty northerly wind that will usher in even colder temps Monday and Tuesday when afternoon highs fall into the 40s.
