The evening will start off quiet but dense fog is forecast to develop into the overnight.  With the fog in the air overnight and temperatures below freezing, along some melting today of the recent snow, you'll have to watch out for slick spots.  Temperatures overnight will fall into the teens.

Sunday will start off foggy with a light wintry mix developing in western Kansas in the afternoon.  Highs will be in the 20s and 30s.

A winter storm will bear down on Kansas especially in the Sunday night through early Tuesday time frame.  More snow, some heavy, with considerable blowing and drifting of the snow will take place.  Central and south central Kansas look to be under the gun with the possibility of 6-12 inches of snow.  Most of western Kansas will be 6 inches or less but the very strong north winds will cause near blizzard conditions.  Blizzard watches and winter storm watches are in effect.  Travel late Sunday night into Monday will be treacherous, if not impossible in areas.

Light snow will end in eastern Kansas Tuesday morning but the wind will still be around.  More blowing and drifting of the snow will occur even as the accumulating snow has ended.

Please note there is still some uncertainty, regarding the track and intensity of this system.  Watch for more updates as the weekend progresses, so please stay tuned.

Temperatures will stay cold the rest of the week.
