Quiet weather is in store for the area overnight and again Wednesday before the next storm system arrives heading into Thursday.
There will be some clouds over the state through the night, but it will be dry. Temperatures will fall into the 20s for most areas, but should be in the low 30s for Wichita by early Wednesday. The winds will be light.
Expect some clouds in Kansas for Wednesday with temperatures cooling down. Highs will stay in the upper 40s in northern Kansas, but look for low to mid 50s in the south. Strongest winds will take place in western Kansas Wednesday afternoon with south breezes returning.
We still expect a chance for light rain Thursday. Best chance will reside over southcentral and southeast Kansas through the day. A wintry mix of some rain or snow is expected Thursday night in the west, but accumulations would be limited to grassy areas and be very light.
There is potential for a weekend storm that will bring accumulaing snow to the area Saturday into Sunday. Accumulations look likey, so stay tuned for updates as it gts closer.
