Kingman State Fishing Lake Before Draining (By Photojournalist Dennis Decker / August 9, 2012) |
Low water levers will help Kansas Wildlife, Parks and Tourism drain the Kingman State Fishing Lake.
Crews want to drain the lake so they can get rid of unwanted fish, like which perch and carp. The draining will begin sometime this month. The fish will then be poisoned.
Later on, workers will restock the lake with new, more desirable fish like Channel Catfish and Largemouth Bass. The lake has been drained and renovated six times in the last 60 years.
