NEW YORK (PIX11)—
A winter storm named “Brutus” is bearing down on the northern states from Canada, which is not a surprise for November.
What is new, however, is that The Weather Channel has taken to naming winter storms, like they do for hurricanes and tropical storms.
And while their reporters may be referring to it by name, other meteorologists refuse.
“I’m not a fan,” said PIX11’s Mr. G. “The only names I’m going to use (come from) the Hurricane Center, they’re there 365 days a year, they’ve earned my respect.”
