President Barack Obama will come to New York Thursday to meet with affected families and local officials involved in recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy, the White House announced Friday.
The presidential visit comes on the heels of New York state's announcement that damages caused by the storm could total an estimated $33 billion.
Last week, Obama visited affected communities in New Jersey where he was given a tour of ravaged coastal areas by Governor Chris Christie.
As many as 100 people were killed when the storm struck last week, officials said. Power outages throughout Long Island and parts of New Jersey remain a problem more than 10 days after Sandy hit.
