Chase ends in crash on K-15 in Sedgwick County

SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) - Update: K-15 is back open between Wichita and Derby after a chase that ended with a crash.

Eyewitness Gerald Jackson said he saw officers chasing a man in a car. He said the suspect drove through medians and hit several other cars, one of them head-on. He said the suspect eventually stopped, got out the car and ran, but officers caught him.

“He looked like there was no remorse. His objective was to get away and unfortunately, that didn’t work out for him,” said Jackson.

We have reached out the Kansas Highway Patrol who worked the crash for more details on what led up to the incident.

Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputies are on the scene of a chase that ended in a crash south of Wichita.

Emergency crews have shut down K-15 between 55th and 63rd Streets South to work the crash.

Eyewitness News has a crew headed to the scene.
