KBI investigating officer-involved shooting in Andover

ANDOVER, Kan. (KWCH) - Update: Oct. 17 8:30 p.m.: The Kansas Bureau of Investigation released more details into a shooting in Andover.

Saturday afternoon, Andover Police responded to a man brandishing a gun outside the Kwik Shop on Highway 54, according to KBI.

The 46-year-old man was shot by an Andover police officer “after a verbal exchange.” The man thenf led through several area businesses and was apprehend at a nearby Braum’s.

The man was transported to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 17, 6 p.m.: The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating after an officer-involved shooting in Andover.

The shooting occurred at Highway 54 and Andover Road at the Kwik Shop. The shooter ran through an area nearby and ended in the Braum’s parking lot where he was shot. He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
