ULYSSES, Kan. (KWCH) - The Ulysses Police Department is investigating a shooting that left an 11-year-old injured.

Officers were called to the shooting in the 1300 block of Oklahoma Ave. at 4:48 p.m. They arrived to find the 11-year-old with a gunshot wound to the face. She was taken to Bob Wilson Hospital by Grant County EMS.

Police said their preliminary findings are that a 13-year-old boy at the residence was handling a firearm when it discharged striking the 11-year-old girl.
