Wichita Police said a man was shot in the head in the 1800 block of South Main Wednesday morning.
Police said the man is expected to recover and that there is a person of interest.
Police also said several people were in the home when the shooting occurred and that they found several gun shells outside, which makes them think someone fired into the home. When police arrived, most of the people in the home were gone.
“I don’t know if the person inside was the intended target or not, but based on the information we received from the people inside, there were other people in the residence with the victim at the time of the shooting,” Lt. Matt Lang with the Wichita Police Department said.
Police turned to neighbors for more information.
“The majority of people in this neighborhood came forward and gave us a little more information than what we initially had talking to the people who were in the house,” Lt. Lang said.
Wichita Police are investigating a shooting that happened earlier Wednesday morning.
The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of South Main. That’s near Harry and Broadway.
