Warming up through next week
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - After starting the new year with snow in south central Kansas, sunshine and warmer temps will take over in the next few days.
Tonight, it will stay chilly with lows in the 20s. We’ll have a mostly clear to partly cloudy sky.
Sunday, highs will reach the low 50s in the west and the mid to upper 40s in central Kansas. We’ll have a sunny to a mostly sunny sky and the wind will stay mild, around 5-15 mph.
We’ll stay sunny and mild with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s through Tuesday. By Wednesday we’ll have our next chance for rain. This next system will bring a rain/snow mix into western Kansas Wednesday morning and showers into central Kansas through most of the day. Any chance for rain or snow will end for the west by Wednesday evening, but showers will change into a rain/snow mix for central Kansas Wednesday evening. This will end overnight.
Highs will drop into the low 40s behind this system Thursday through Friday.
