Midweek rain chances increasing
Afternoon showers Wednesday will be focused in the east
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Chief Meteorologist Ross Janssen says that cloudy and colder weather is coming up for Kansas with some chances for rain showers in a few parts of the state. Most of the afternoon showers Wednesday will be focused along and east of I-135.
Temperatures will be dropping as another cold front races across the Plains. We can expect much of the state to have highs back down in the 40s on Wednesday.
It will get cold enough for some of the rain to mix with snow along and east of 135. Snow accumulation is not expected. And although a few flurries are still possible early Thursday, it shouldn’t amount to much.
Look for another cloudy day on Thursday with highs near 40.
The clouds will still be pretty stubborn on Friday with afternoon temperatures in the upper 30s.
There is still expected to be another weekend system moving closer to Kansas, and that will bring a snow chance to far western Kansas Saturday and Saturday night.
