3 dead in Friday’s southwest Wichita crash
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Update Sunday Feb. 28, 2021: The Wichita Police Department has identified 70-year-old Cheryl Sigle of Wichita, 72-year-old Dennis Sigle of Wichita and 25-year-old Isaiah Ragazzone as the victims of a fatal accident that happened on Friday.
Officers were dispatched to a crash at around 3:05 P.M. in the intersection of S Meridian and I-235.
Upon arrival, Officers located an accident scene involving three vehicles – a white Impala, a tan Buick, and a black Lincoln. Through their investigation, they learned that the white Impala, driven by Isaiah Ragazzone, was traveling Southbound on Meridian at a high rate of speed. As the Impala approached the intersection of S Meridian and I-235, it collided with the tan Buick, driven by Dennis Sigle, which was attempting to make a left turn onto I-235. The force of the impact caused the engine to be ejected from the Buick, and the black Lincoln was struck by the engine.
Both Dennis and Isaiah were transported to an area hospital in critical condition. They later succumbed to their injuries. The passenger of the Buick, Cheryl Sigle, was pronounced deceased on scene. There were no injuries to the occupants of the black Lincoln. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita police are investigating whether a disturbance led up to a deadly crash at I-235 and Meridian.
Police said they received a call just after 3 p.m. regarding some sort of disturbance with shots fired at 31st and Meridian. Shortly after, a white Impala was spotted traveling at a high rate of speed. The car then crashed into a tan Buick that was trying to turn left in front of the Impala. Police said the impact caused the Buick’s engine to fly out and hit another vehicle. The Impala then rolled onto its top.
A woman, who was a passenger in the Buick, died in the crash. The driver, a 72-year-old man, was taken to hospital in critical condition. The 26-year-old man who was driving the Impala also suffered critical injuries.
Police are asking anyone who was a witness to either incident to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 316-267-2111.
