WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Two officers with the Belle Plaine Police Department received recognition for stepping up, going above and beyond for two women whose truck broke down. Police Chief Bill Berry posted on the department’s Facebook page that Officer Will Narron noticed a parked vehicle close to his house last week.

Two women who appeared to be moving to a new home had broken down and were waiting for the morning to have repairs done on the truck. Officer Narron made sandwiches for the women and got something for them to drink. Since they were going to be sleeping that night in the truck, Narron also got blankets for them. Officer Brett Sarchet then kept an eye on the truck during the night and checked on the women as he was ending his shift the next morning.
