Building partially collapses in downtown McPherson
MCPHERSON, Kan. (KWCH) - A portion of downtown McPherson is blocked off following a building collapse Tuesday morning.
The McPherson Police Department said it took a report about a “loud boom” and building collapse in the 100 Block of North Main Street and Marlin Street. First responders arrived on the scene and found that the west wall of a residence above Sounds Great, 123 N Main Street, had crumbled. No one was hurt.
Police said the 100 block of North Main Street and 100 West Marlin Street will be closed for the time being. Pedestrians are asked to stay away from the area until a structural engineer arrives and shoring is in place.
