Rain returns over Memorial Day weekend
Dry Saturday, rain likely Sunday and Memorial Day
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Meteorologist Peyton Sanders says that we will start out the Memorial Day weekend dry, but rain will become likely as the weekend progresses.
Temperatures Saturday morning will be cool with lows in the mid 40s to around 50. Afternoon highs will reach the lower 70s with a mix of sun and clouds. Winds will be breezy over western Kansas.
Showers and storms will develop over eastern Colorado Saturday afternoon. This activity will move into western Kansas during the evening and through the night. The risk of severe weather is low with any storms that develop.
Rain is likely throughout the day Sunday for much of the state. Some embedded thunderstorms will be possible, but there will not be any severe weather.
Chances for rain will continue on Memorial Day for most of the state before beginning to diminish by the evening.
With the clouds and rain, temperatures will turn cooler with highs only in the low to mid 60s Sunday and Memorial Day.
