No charges filed against Sedgwick County Sheriff’s deputy arrested for domestic violence
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Update: The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that no charges will be filed against a deputy arrested May 29 for misdemeanor domestic violence disorderly conduct.
The arrest stems from an incident involving the Deputy Clayton Blackwood and his domestic partner.
The sheriff’s office said the incident was fully investigated and presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for charging considerations. The district attorney’s office declined to pursue charges.
Deputy Blackwood returned to restricted duty pending the outcome of the internal investigation, which will be handled by the Professional Standards Unit. While on restricted duty, deputies under investigation for a serious policy violation do not have contact with the public.
