More heat and higher humidity this week
Temperatures getting hotter over the next few days
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Meteorologist Peyton Sanders says that it will get hotter with higher humidity through the rest of the week.
Temperatures Wednesday morning will start out in the mid 60s to near 70. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s to near 90 with a southeast breeze.
Thursday will likely be the hottest day so far this year for most of the state with highs reaching the low to mid 90s. With the higher humidity, heat index values will range from 95 to 100 degrees.
A cold front will move through the state on Friday, bringing heat relief to western Kansas where temperatures will return to the 80s. Central and eastern Kansas will have another day with highs in the 90s.
The weather pattern will favor dry conditions for most of the state from now through the weekend. If any storms manage to develop, they will remain isolated.
