WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Chief Meteorologist Ross Janssen says a few severe storms could develop along and east of I-135 before the evening winds down. Main threats will be strong wind gusts to 65 mph and some 1″ hail.

A cold front continues to push through the area with drier air moving in behind it. Low temperatures by Saturday morning should fall into the 60s over a good part of Kansas. Highs will warm into the upper 80s with sunshine around the state. Although a few storms may clip southwest Kansas Saturday night, they are likely to remain hit and miss.

It will be rather warmer again Sunday with highs approaching 90. Any chance of a stray shower or storm at the end of the weekend will be limited to far western Kansas.

Next week is shaping up to be another hot week for Kansas.
