Sunny and hotter Wednesday
Highs in the mid 90s to around 100
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Meteorologist Peyton Sanders says that the heat will intensify over the next few days with some of the hottest days so far this year on the way.
It will be a mild start to the day Wednesday with morning low temperatures in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs will reach the mid 90s in south central Kansas while much of western Kansas will reach 100 degrees.
Very hot conditions will continue on Thursday with plenty of sunshine. Highs will range from 100 to 105 degrees statewide, though the humidity levels will remain low.
A cold front will move into the state on Friday, but it will still be hot ahead of the front. Highs will reach 100 again for southern Kansas while northern Kansas returns to the 90s.
Isolated showers and storms could develop along the front Friday evening over parts of northern Kansas and again on Saturday.
