The heat continues this week
Highs from 100 to 105 Thursday and Friday
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Meteorologist Peyton Sanders says the heat will continue through the rest of the week and the weekend.
It will be a mild start to the day Thursday with low temperatures in the upper 60s to around 70. Afternoon highs will range from 100 to 105 degrees statewide with plenty of sunshine and a bit of a south breeze.
Highs will remain in the 100s for most of the state on Friday with breezy south winds ahead of a cold front that will move into northern Kansas.
The front will be diminishing as it moves into Kansas, so there will not be much change in the temperatures with highs remaining in the mid to upper 90s this weekend.
A much stronger cold front will eventually bring heat relief by Monday of next week when highs will fall back into the lower 80s. Rain chances may return during this time too.
