Hot again Saturday, evening storms northwest KS
High temperatures from 90 to 100 degrees
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Meteorologist Peyton Sanders says that the heat will continue through the weekend before much cooler conditions arrive Monday.
It will be a warm start to the day Saturday with morning low temperatures in the 70s. Afternoon highs will once again range from 90 to 100 degrees with a bit of a south breeze.
A few showers and storms will develop in eastern Colorado Saturday afternoon and will move through northwest Kansas during the evening and into the night. Some of the stronger storms could be severe with damaging wind gusts the primary threat.
Sunday will be hot too with highs from 90 to 100 again. There will be a chance for a few showers and storms during the evening over portions of south central and eastern Kansas.
A strong cold front will move through the state Sunday night, bringing high temperatures back into the upper 70s on Monday with low humidity. Morning rain will be possible for many areas before dry conditions return by afternoon.
The cooldown will be brief with highs expected to return to the 90s for the middle to end of next week.
