Demand for KU gear grows amid title run
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Saturday night, the Kansas Jayhawks clinched their spot in the national title game, and Rally House staff says that if the Jayhawks keep winning, the business will keep booming.
Mason Gray, the Rally House West manager, says, “no matter if it has the bird, if it says final four on it, if it has anything to do with KU, they’re getting it.”
Kansas’ win over Villanova has them heading to the national championship game for the first time in a decade.
Trystan Emerson, a local KU fan, “they finally made it to the championship, so definitely really excited about that.”
Jayhawk fans have been gearing up with some merch throughout the tournament. Rally house said they had had new items coming in with each accomplishment the Hawks have had this season and have plenty of styles flying off the shelves.
Gray says, “KU business has by far been one of our largest businesses. I haven’t seen anything like this since the Chiefs were in the playoffs. I would assume there would be more Chiefs fans, but everybody that walks in walks out with a KU shirt.”
If KU wins on Monday, Rally House said they would have shirts the next day and more styles later in the week.
