WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Sunday, thousands of KU fans packed into the city’s downtown to see the Jayhawks men’s basketball team parade their new trophy.

The Jayhawks won 72 to 69 over North Carolina. Sunday’s KU victory parade had fans ecstatic because Jayhawks blue and crimson were on Mass street to proclaim their team.

For the fans here, they say it was a chance to be part of history. Following Monday’s NCAA men’s basketball championship, these fans are proud to say they’re Jayhawks.

Hosea, a KU fan, said, “I grew up with my mom watching KU basketball since I could remember watching TV and seeing them win a big deal for me and my mom, and everybody here in Lawrence.

KU’s men’s basketball team is ready to do this again.

Lizzie Hartman-Thomas, a fan in attendance of the parade, says, “we’re just going to make this a more common occurrence of being champions of the NCAA.
