Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony held in downtown Wichita
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A ceremony honoring Sedgwick County law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty was held in downtown Wichita Friday morning.
Several leaders were on hand to speak and pay respects, including Mayor Brandon Whipple, Interim Police Chief Lem Moore and County Commission Chairman David Dennis.
Due to ongoing covid-19 concerns, this year’s ceremony was only open in-person to families of the fallen and law enforcement. The event rounds out National Police Week, May 15-May 21.
