WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Update July 7: The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office identified the man killed in Wednesday morning’s crash as 32-year-old Nicholas Cox of Haysville.

The driver of the truck was a 27-year-old man from Derby.

Update: The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said a man in his 30s died and another man was hospitalized with injuries after a late-Wednesday-morning crash involving a car and a truck.

The sheriff’s office said in the crash, reported at 11:09 a.m. just west of Ridge Road on MacArthur, a car crossed the center line and struck a westbound truck, head-on. The driver of that car died at the scene, the sheriff’s office said. The truck’s driver went to the hospital with serious injuries.

The sheriff’s office said it does not think speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.

One person was killed and one person was seriously injured in a crash near MacArthur and Ridge in southwest Wichita.

The crash happened at 11:09 a.m., according to dispatch.
