Police: Suspect dies after shooting, killing manager in Oklahoma City

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - 9:50 p.m. Update: KWTV News 9 reports the suspect in a deadly shooting in Oklahoma City has died.

Police said the suspect rolled his vehicle off Highway 33 near Kingfisher, Oklahoma.

The man, a former employee, is accused of shooting his manager following a dispute Wednesday afternoon at a Hobby Lobby distribution center.

7:45 p.m. Update: A deadly shooting suspect thought to have been headed to Kansas has been located in Oklahoma.

KWTV News 9 reports the suspect has barricaded himself in his car in Kingfisher, Okla.

Oklahoma City police said the shooting happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at a Hobby Lobby distribution center. Police said the employee came to speak with his manager. The conversation got heated and the employee pulled out a gun, shooting and killing his manager.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the suspect in a deadly shooting in Oklahoma City may be headed to Kansas.

The shooting happened around 5 p.m. at the Hobby Lobby distribution center.

“The suspect produced a firearm and shot the victim at least once,” said Oklahoma City police Sgt. Rob Robertson.

Police said the shooter fled the scene in a dark-colored Dodge Challenger with a vehicle tag number H5Y05 from the Muscogee Nation, a federally recognized tribe in Oklahoma.

KHP confirmed that the suspect was believed to be heading northbound on I-35 and could be coming to Kansas. He was last spotted near Guthrie, Okla.

KHP said if you see the suspect, do not approach him, call 911.
