Body found submerged in S. Sedgwick Co.

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - UPDATE: The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department confirmed a man between 30 and 40-years-old was found submerged in a pond near the 1100 block of E. 63rd St. S.
Lieutenant Daniel Oliver said the man was found along the shoreline fully clothed in an area that was difficult to reach. Members of Wichita, Sedgwick Co. and Derby Fire Department’s were called out to assist in recovery. Lt. Oliver said the department believes the man had been in the water for a long period of time which makes it difficult to identify the person.
The department said it believes the man may have been fishing at the pond without permission. It’s investigating whether foul play was involved.
The investigation is ongoing.
