Hutchinson school warns parents of ‘Cat in the Hat’ trend
HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KWCH) - Hutchinson High School officials are warning parents about a new nationwide social media trend.
In a Facebook post, the school shared that the issue is known as the ‘Cat in the Hat’ trend. People are posting pictures or videos of school interiors with AI generated Dr. Suess characters. The posts contain vaguely threatening messages.
The school did not mention anything specifically directed at Hutchinson schools, but it said that the Hutchinson Police Department is investigating the matter and that updates will be shared as needed.
The school also encouraged anyone who sees a specific or direct threat to report it to the school and law enforcement immediately.
