Jaiya Brown recently moved to Wichita from Atlanta, Georgia where she attended Georgia State University as a multimedia broadcast journalist.
Throughout her time in college, Jaiya used her love for service and community to remain active in multiple student organizations and community service events that eventually made a huge impact on her mentally and socially.
In college, Jaiya was the head Entertainment News Anchor of her student news organization, a President's and Dean's lists recipient for all four years, a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the creator of her own entertainment news segment ‘What It Do GSU’, a TV anchor/host for GSUTV, and a member of HerCampus: Collegiate Woman Journalist, all while interning at one of Atlanta’s biggest Hip Hop radio stations, Streetz 94.5!
Jaiya has always had a strong passion for mentorship and sisterhood as she mentored and built personal relationships with high school girls in her free time. Jaiya is looking forward to taking her talents and personality to the city of Wichita, to see what it's all about, make new friends, and maybe, call Kansas her second home!
Be sure to follow Jaiya on Facebook and Twitter. Feel free to send an email, share a story or just drop by to say “ Heyyyy”! Jaiya is always looking forward to meeting new people!
