Born and raised in Wichita, Peyton is no stranger to the crazy Kansas weather. He brings in several years of experience of forecasting and delivering Kansas weather information. Throughout high school, he co-owned a non-profit, social media weather page with over 14,000 followers from all over Kansas.
Peyton’s days in front of the green screen began when he was just 13 years old. He began to go in to the local TV stations in Wichita to get practice and learn more about the weather. He also had his own in-home weather center, equipped with a green screen, where he could continue to practice delivering the weather.
When he was 15 years old, Peyton was featured with his work for his social media page on The Weather Channel.
Peyton’s professional broadcast weather career started when he was just 18 years old at Channel 6 News in Lawrence.
Peyton continued his career at WIBW 13 in July 2017. There, he covered memorable weather events in Topeka, including the 2018 November blizzard and the Lawrence-Linwood EF-4 tornado in May 2019. His favorite part of the job is working the long hours tracking severe storms and tornadoes on radar.
