Man arrested in E. Wichita shooting

WICHITA, Kan. Update: Friday 10:45

The Wichita Police Department arrested a man who shot his girlfriend on Thursday during an argument.

WPD received a call about a walk-in shooting at Firehouse 15 located at Lincoln and Rock Road.

When officers arrived on scene they discovered a 27-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the chest and a 21-year-old man with a stab wound to his arm.

Police learned the shooting happened at an apartment complex near the firehouse.

The woman was critically injured and the man was treated for minor injuries.

WPD arrested the man on aggravated battery, marijuana (intent to sell) and drug paraphernalia.


A woman was critically injured in an east Wichita shooting Thursday night.

Wichita Police say a man and a woman left the Conquistador apartment complex in the 7900 hundred block of East Lincoln and arrived at a fire station near the apartment and requested aid.

The woman had a gunshot wound to the stomach, the man had a cut to his arm, police say.

Police don't know how they were hurt. Neither has given a statement and there are no witnesses to the incident.

Police don't know if they hurt each other or if someone else was involved. The woman has been taken into surgery. The man was treated and released.
