A photo posted to Facebook that shows a waitress helping an older customer at a Houston-area Waffle is going viral on social media.

Evoni Williams.18, was working behind the counter on Saturday when she noticed an older man with an oxygen tank struggling to cut up his food.

The customer mentioned his hands didn’t “work too good,” so Williams decided to help him out by lending a helping hand.

Laura Wolf, who posted the photo on Facebook said without hesitation, she took his plate and began cutting up his ham.

"This may seem small, but to him, I’m sure it was huge. I'm thankful to have seen this act of kindness and caring at the start of my day while everything in this world seems so negative. If we could all be like this waitress & take time to offer a helping hand," says Wolf.

The photo has been shared over 40,00 times on Facebook.

Texas Southern University saw the photo and offered the recent high-school graduate a $16,0000 scholarship.
