Woman sentenced to 6 years in connection with torture killing near Valley Center

WICHITA, Kan. One of five people convicted in the 2016 torture killing of a man near Valley Center faces six years in prison for her part in the crime. The Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office says a judge handed down Alexandria Scott's 72-month sentence this week.

Scott faced charges of kidnapping and robbery in the crime that led to Scottie Goodpaster's death in November 2016.

Police say Goodpaster was tortured and a woman was sexually assaulted in a shed behind the Valley Center home on South Meridian. The affidavit claims this all started over $185 missing from a drug deal.

Willie Morris and Heidi and Jeff Hilard were sentenced to life in connection with the crimes a judge called "horrific beyond imagination" and the "depth of depravity."

Scott and suspect Brian Bussart testified against the Hillards.
