Update 11:15 a.m.

Two people suffer serious, but non-life-threatening injuries after a semi hauling dog supplies rolls on the ramp from westbound K-96 to southbound I-135.

A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper says the semi went off the left side of the ramp, struck several Kansas Department of Transportation signs and overturned in the left ditch. There were two people in the truck. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

KHP Trooper Chad Crittenden says the ramp would stay closed until the truck's freight is unloaded before the truck is towed.

A little after 11 a.m., Crittenden says K-96 westbound to southbound I-135 "will continue to be closed for several more hours." Westbound K-96 is diverted to northbound I-135, or drivers can exit to Hyrdaulic and re-enter southbound I-135 off of 29th Street.

The KHP says speed may have played a factor in the crash.

One person is critically injured in a crash involving a semi overturning at K-96 Highway and Interstate 135.

Sedgwick County dispatch says the crash happened on the westbound K-96 ramp to the southbound I-135 ramp. Traffic is backed up as crews work to clear the scene.
