SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) A man died Monday afternoon in a crash in southwest Sedgwick County.
Capt. Brad Hoch, with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, said around 1 p.m. someone passing by the intersection of 311th St. W. and 47th St. S. noticed an SUV on the north side of the road.
Hoch said the driver appeared to have been ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
He said investigators believe the driver oversteered the SUV on the roadway and ended up in the field, but it may take a while to determine exactly what caused the deadly crash.
Investigators will look into whether speed or other factors played a role in what happened.
Hoch said the driver is believed to be a man in his 60s and from southwestern Sedgwick County.
He was not sure how long the man had been there before the accident was discovered.
